************************** If I stop to think about art, I make an immediate association with the ' human activities. However I think there is a fundamental difference between art and craft: the creation of a work of art certainly requires manual dexterity and technical skills, but above all needs the synergy of certain factors such as creativity, expression and aesthetics. I personally believe that art is a representation of reality that the artist created for sending a message to express their own point of view, to proclaim to the world something that beats within.
When an individual comes into contact with a work of art within itself starts a process that is mainly developed in two phases: first, sensory stimulation, and thereafter processing complex involving the individual's cultural background and his experience and his sensitivity. But what fascinates me most is the rapid and unconscious in which this occurs. And if we talk about smell this short circuit is much faster and exciting.
When a perfume is worn or vaporized in an environment we can not avoid to enter in contact by breathing. If the fragrance is simply good or bad only trigger a sensory appreciation of nature. This is typical of functional perfumery: we express by saying "good" or "unpleasant" experience is over. Instead, a bouquet of cut is not artistic is only as good or pleasant, but also induces reactions, giving rise to inner thoughts that lead to a deeper review. It undoubtedly fails to stimulate curiosity: when we encounter a masterpiece We never tire of contemplating. The smell, while staying within its structure, evolving as a living creature: we will continue to recognize it, but its variability will allow us to appreciate every moment that unknown facets suggest new thoughts and new vision.
Obviously, if a perfume is a work of art we recognize a priori the quality and originality, this last feature is not intended as the ability propose a completely new point of view of the structure (it would be increasingly difficult to create a masterpiece), but as the ability to tell a personal story: a fragrance to the rose is still the memory of the smell of a rose, but every composition the flower can be interpreted in an original and individual.
As mentioned above, I believe that the evaluation of works of art to proceed on a path that leads from sensation and emotion, but it should be noted that this path passes through a desire to learn more about the object in question , and dare to talk about its interpretation. Discuss a perfume, unfortunately, is not simple, on the other hand in all the world's languages, the vocabulary available to describe a sense of smell is very poor. This is probably one of the reasons why people usually intimidating to imprint upon a discussion around a smell. Many people are able to express detailed descriptions of shapes and colors when they see a sculpture or a painting, but the same people may be unable to describe their feelings wanting to comment on a fragrance. This difficulty could be a major cause of the exclusion of the perfume from the sphere of art, although one must not overlook the fact that the perfume is a commodity you can buy and is used. But let me ask you a question: Is there anything that gives feelings of joy, laughter or nostalgia as quickly and unconsciously of a fragrance? And what can touch the human spirit more than a work of art? So with a simple syllogism: there is something more artistic than a perfume?
